Семантична еволюція кодифікованих іншомовних запозичень в українській мові ХХІ ст

Abstract

У статті на матеріалі сучасної української мови проаналізовано розширення се­мантичного спектру кодифікованих до початку нинішнього століття іншомовних за­позичень. За основу взято академічні словники за редакцією О. С. Мельничука 1974 і 1985 рр. Реєстр і тлумачення з цих видань порівнюємо з матеріалом низки різно­рідних лексикографічних видань, що вийшли після 2000 р., від «Сучасного словника іншомовних слів» О. І. Скопненка і Т. В. Цимбалюк за редакцією Г. П. Півторака (2006 р.) до колективної праці «Словник новітніх англізмів» (2022 р.). Використано також відповідний матеріал сучасних тлумачних словників української мови. Увага зосереджена на значеннєвому вимірі. Зазначені семантичні зміни є відображенням суспільно-політичних трансформацій, науково-технічного прогресу і культурного обміну, а також глобалізаційних процесів. Окреме місце посідають семантичні ін­новації, пов’язані з релевантними для України історичними подіями останніх років. Не всі нові значення і конотації запозичених слів зафіксовані в сучасних словниках, деякі з них виступають наразі лише в електронних виданнях та інших інтернет-дже­релах. Виділено групу давніх запозичень грецького і латинського походження, гер­манізми і романізми, класифіковані за тематичним принципом — науково-техніч­ні (серед яких особливу увагу приділено лінгвістичним), фінансово-економічні, суспільно-політичні і юридичні, науково-освітні терміни, лексика, належна до куль­турно-мистецької і побутової та інших сфер). Зазначені факти вторинної номінації в багатьох випадках пов’язані з вихідною і набутою багатозначністю відповідних анг­лійських лексем, у тому числі негерманського (переважно латинського) походження. Розширення значень запозичених лексем є свідченням подальшої інтернаціоналіза­ції сучасного українського лексикону.

 SEMANTIC EVOLUTION OF CODIFIED LOANWORDS IN THE UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE OF THE 21^st CENTURY

The article deals with the expansion of the semantic spectrum of foreign-language borrowings codified by the beginning of this century using the material of the modern Ukrainian language. The academic dictionaries edited by O. S. Melnychuk in 1974 and 1985 are taken as the basis. The register and interpretations from these editions are compared with the material of a number of diverse lexicographic editions published after 2000, from the «Modern Dictionary of Foreign Words» by O. I. Skopnenko and T. V. Tsymbalyuk edited by H. P. Pivtorak (2006) to the collective work «Dictionary of Modern Anglicisms» (2022). The corresponding material from modern explanatory dictionaries of the Ukrainian language is also used. Attention is focused on the semantic dimension. The mentioned semantic changes are a reflection of socio-political transformations, scientific and technological progress and cultural exchange, as well as globalization processes. A separate place is occupied by semantic innovations associated with historical events, relevant for Ukraine, of recent years. Not all new meanings and connotations of borrowed words are recorded in modern dictionaries, some of them currently appear only in electronic publications and other Internet sources. A group of ancient borrowings of Greek and Latin origin, Germanisms and Romanisms, classified according to thematic principle - scientific and technical (among which special attention is paid to linguistic), financial and economic, socio-political and legal, scientific and educational terms, vocabulary belonging to cultural and artistic, every day and other spheres, is highlighted. The above facts of secondary nomination are in many cases related to the original and acquired polysemy of the corresponding English lexemes, including those of non-Germanic (mostly Latin) origin. The expansion of the meanings of borrowed lexemes is evidence of the further internationalization of the modern Ukrainian lexicon.
